More Studies: Lead in China
Another recent article about the amounts of lead found in china (also on Jeremy's Exposing Lead website): http://www.wthr.com/story/12465018/13-investigates-lead-in-your-dishes. When we tested our china at home three years ago with Jeremy, he found extremely high levels of lead in all of our china. Christmas Spode (this one: http://www.christmasdinnerwareonline.com/spode.php) contained over 100,000ppm of lead. We immediately got rid of this china. How much it leaches, no one knows. But ANYTHING with these high levels would pose a much higher risk for leeching. The "safe" level for lead in dinnerware is 300ppm. Why risk it? This article also lists some lead-safe dinnerware, like Fiesta, as an alternative.
