A Dangerous Appliance?

I have known about how horrible microwaves are for 2 1/2 years now. We thought ours broke over two years ago (turned out to be slightly unplugged - one of those built-in kinds), so instead of replacing it, I told my husband that we were going to try and live without it. I had wanted to do this, and this was a prime opportunity! He looked at me like I was insane..."what? live without a microwave? how can we do that?" We started re-heating food in the oven (like the prehistoric times), and in water on the stove. Turned out these techniques worked very well! As we moved into our new house recently, I promptly removed the built-in microwave and put it in the basement. We just don't need it at all anymore!
